I've had a few websites, mostly constructed in html, but also Wordpress and blogger (like this one.
My latest is an experiment using PDFs. A few years ago this would have been crazy. PDFs are far larger than other solutions, but internet speeds have got much faster. Also most desktop browsers can view PDFs, and some mobile ones (Eg Firefox). This situation will improve.
Links can also be included in PDFs now.
